About Us

West Kootenay Park Management Inc.

West Kootenay Park Management Inc. (WKPM) has been operating provincial parks in conjunction with BC Parks since 1996. Our reputation is built on ensuring our parks are well maintained with clean, well-kept facilities, with high attention to detail. Our staff treat visitors with the same professional, courteous service of a high-end hotel. We are committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable park experience for our visitors. We can proudly say that we are one of the best park operators in the province, with staff dedicated to maintaining this high level of service. Our dedication to quality is reflected in high visitor satisfaction ratings on annual park surveys. Visit the BC Parks website for access.

We welcome feedback from our visitors to ensure constant improvement of our services. Don’t hesitate to tell us how we are doing. We look forward to your company this summer at one of our BC Parks. Happy camping!

Our Parks and Sites

All of our provincial parks are located near either a lake or river filled with cold, clean and clear mountain water. Many campsites have their own direct access to the waterfront. All sites have their own fire pit and picnic table and all parks have potable water. Some of the parks have flush toilets (Martha Creek, Blanket Creek, McDonald Creek, and Summit Lake) and showers (McDonald Creek, Blanket Creek, and Martha Creek). In addition, RV sani stations are available at Martha Creek, Blanket Creek, and McDonald Creek, or in the nearby communities of Revelstoke, Nakusp and New Denver. Summit Lake Park has a freshwater RV fill station. McDonald Creek Park also has 18 electrified sites. We care about your pet and have off leash locations in many of our parks to make them happy!

Local Communities

This is NOT the urban buzz of the Okanagan, Calgary or lower mainland. Embrace the vibrancy of the small mountain communities of Revelstoke (population 10,000), Nakusp (population 1,500) and New Denver (population 560), which are the service centres for the region. Any tourist infrastructure and amenities you need while visiting can be easily found in these communities. From food and liquor stores, service stations, automobile repair shops, eclectic restaurants, cafes, art galleries, gift stores and pubs — there is something for everyone. Take part in vibrant community events, festivals, farmer’s markets and don’t miss the local museums or attractions. Need medical help? Each community is equipped with hospital services. And of course there are BC Tourism Information Centres with friendly staff keen to help. A visit to these quaint, yet upbeat communities will have you eager to return.
